Reading
F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby and Selfish Reasons to Have More Kids by Bryan Caplan.  The title intrigued and surprised me.  So far, it's not convinced me to have more kids but I'm learning fascinating research about things like parents' happiness and did you know that modern working mothers spend more time with their children than housewives of the 50s and 60s?   I dont know how that's possible but then I think about Mad Men's Betty Draper and, well, I get it.  I'm still intrigued so I think I'll keep reading...

Watching
Reno 911!  It's the silliest show but it's about all my brain can handle.  I feel like I've been running myself ragged (um, see above).  When I can actually concentrate, Dan and I have been watching Parenthood.  And, I always cry at least once.

Listening
I got a little obsessed with listening to Nirvana during Kurt Cobain's birthday (He would have turned 46 on February 20).  I'm also listening to a lot of Fleet Foxes and Jack White.  I think I need something new.  Any suggestions?

Obsessing
Car hunting!  We have been a one-car-family for over a year.  It completely suits our lifestyle to just have one car but we've saved enough cash to buy something nicer, more dependable, and we are using my connections (through my day-job) to get a good deal.  I'm so excited to have something new(ish) again.  The BMW is classy but I really miss remote keyless entry.  We've decided to keep two cars for a while and see how it works.

Anticipating
Dan's birthday is just around the corner.  He never wants to make a big deal about his birthday and he hates gifts but I'm throwing him a party and buying him gifts and I actually put some time and effort into it so ... I hope he likes it.

Loving
So many things!  The anticipation of spring, hot herbal tea in the evenings, hot yoga, toasty warm fleece sheets. (Sensing a theme? I hate being cold).  I am also loving all the time our family has gotten to spend together.  Dan has been home a whole lot for the past couple months.

Learning
BB's occupational and physical therapy sessions have radically improved all of our lives.  BB is communicating, walking better, and he's so much happier and proud of himself.  We are learning that he has a proprioceptive sensory dysfunction.  He craves sensory input (like snuggling the cotton balls you see below).  He's having trouble conceptualizing and figuring out what each part of his body needs to do in order to move a certain way or complete a task.  In short:  he's a little clumsy and he loves getting wild.  I was a little upset about the news at first but it's really not that big of a problem once we figured out what he needs.  Wrestling and jumping on pillows are part of his daily routine or "sensory diet".  It's actually kind of fun!

Have a great weekend!  XOXO, Lindsy
