Saying Goodbye to my Twenties! Soon...

The twenties are about discovering who you are, standing on your own two feet, figuring out what you believe and how to interact with other humans.  My twenties were filled with major highs and major lows.  My twenties were my favorite.  They were sometimes complicated and tragic but I learned so much and I have become a strong woman because of it.

I turn 30 in a few months and I cant help but reflect back and sort-of mourn the loss of my twenties.  I'll never forget our glorious wedding day, our roadtrip down the west coast on our 2-year wedding anniversary, renting a convertible in LA for my 25th birthday, our pets: Tobias, Bisou and Winston, renovating two houses or meeting my son for the very first time.

I became a wife and a mother in my twenties (on opposite ends of the decade).  I was a college student, a personal trainer, an escrow assistant, a missionary, a photographer and a project manager.   I was a youth pastor's wife and a road widow.  I traveled to Mexico, Ireland, Spain, England, Czech Republic, Belgium, Italy and lived in France and Canada. We vacationed to Cancun, LA, Vegas, Timberline Lodge, Chicago and Boston.  We road tripped to Chicago twice and to California numerous times.  I got to go on tour with Dan's band a few times and see him play in front of thousands (and sometimes tens) and I am so slowly - but surely - becoming more and more comfortable with my role as a rock star's wife. I've been a blonde, a brunette, a bleach-blonde.  I've had long hair, short hair, wavy hair, straight hair, straight bangs, swoopy bangs, no bangs, highlights, lowlights, balayage and ombre. I lived with the love of my life for the entire decade.  I moved about 15 times.  I learned how to snowboard, skateboard, paint and record music.  I learned that I am extroverted and Dan is introverted.  I learned that I'm not as organized as I thought I was but that administration comes easy to me.  I experienced the loss of friends and family members and the separation and divorce of people very close to me.  Life is good but sometimes life is really hard.

I'm so glad I have faith that God will get me through, a great husband and a great support system.  Thank you so much to everyone who made my twenties beautiful!  I learned that life is short and it flies by.  So, I've got big plans for my thirties!  And, I'm ready to KILL the rest of my 30 Before 30 list.  LOOK OUT!
