Criticism

This week, someone from my past wrote to me on Facebook.  This person criticized my entire life.  I know this person was wrong and that everything they said was false.  They spoke out of jealousy and ignorance.

I replied with facts and truth and I stood up for myself and I know I'm right.  But.... I cant get their words out of my head.

I know that, slowly, the voices will fade and this irrelevant person who disapproves of my life will be a faint memory that I rarely revisit.  I just wish that would come sooner than later.

  2. You and your LIFE are an inspiration to me! I mean that from the bottom of my heart. Becuase of you I have hilghly considered adopting from America one day and because of you I know what it looks like to be happy and content in Jesus! So you can tell whoever it is that criticized you, your inspiring others in many ways and lifting them up in Jesus!

  3. I always feel the same as you...when something is hurtful, even when it's completely untrue, it always takes way too long for the memory of that hurt to fade. I am always envious of people who are able to hear hurtful things and let them roll right off their backs. But words can cut like knives, and those wounds can be slow to heal. It's hard for me to understand why people are intentionally hurtful to others.

I'm sorry you had to go through something like that. May you be blessed by those who love you, and be uplifted this week despite these hurtful words.

    1. Thank you so much, Stephanie! I always wish for tougher skin but I think my sensitivity is just part of how God made me and I want to find the good in it instead of wishing I was different.

  4. ugh, ive been there and i know how hard it is to ignore negative comments or people..just remember, they don't matter, they're not you. At the end of the day who cares what they think? They are probably letting out their own insecurities and taking it out on you because you're stronger<3

  6. Hi Lindsy!
I just read this and I just want to say how sorry I am that someone would do that to you. I KNOW how painful it can be when "hurt people hurt people". Being on the receiving end of those words can really wound. I pray that God will bring His healing to those places and that in time the memory and effect will fade. Love you and Dan - we are so proud of the people you have become!
