I Will Not Use Instagram

Hello!  Here is a sweet little progression of my cell phone pics.  These are from the first day I picked up Baby Bread up until this week.  You can see how much he's grown!  I will be ordering prints from Hipstamart in 4" sqaures in order to make a photo collage of our baby boy.  (They also print in 7", 10" and 30"!).  Check 'em out!  They might even take Instagram uploads... but they probably shouldn't.

You may have read in my bio that I will never stop hating iPhones.  It's just one of my things.  I also dont like iPhone app Instagram for a plethora of reasons, the main one being that it cheapens the art of photography.  But mostly this all started because Instagram attachments are annoying to open up in Twitter.  Anyway!  You can imagine my disappointment when Instagram became available on Droids.  Needless to say, I will not be getting an Instagram account.  Instead, I will be using my own secret apps that are like Instagram and sharing those photos with you on my blog!

These photos from top to bottom are from DAY ONE with BB all the way down to the bath photo which is from 4/7/12.  He's getting so big!

    I remember when my favorite photographer-friend started using Instagram... I practically howled out loud my disapproval. Anyone can use Instagram. Stop it! Go back to your camera and keep your sense of pride in your work!

    Then Instagram came to Android and I jumped on the bandwagon. I'm such a lemming. But here is what I discovered through the people I follow: even Instagram requires a level of artistic knowledge. Oh I use it for crap-shots, too. But I have several people I follow who over use it and lack a lot of skill. (Sorry, but they do.) So I'm approaching it as a new medium to learn and perfect... within the realm of photography. Because it does require a little different way of thinking than it does behind the camera.

    That all being said... I applaud you sticking to your guns! I will never turn to Instagram as my photographic choice, but I caved. It's not so bad. But its not so great, either.

      AH! hilarious. Thank you. I've never been one to NOT stick to my guns (VERY STUBBORN OVER HERE, thankyouverymuch!) ;)

    I have always been anti-apple. But I have to admit, I seriously love my new iPhone. And I really really love instagram. Mostly because it is so easy, and the filters make everyone look skinny and tan, just like in high school. ; )

    He is so smiley, what a sweetheart. I like instagram...but I don't love it. I'm so behind on trends and the only thing I really can't live without is nutella. Everything else in the world is second best.
